Finance and Investment Banking Event 2025

Yesterday, we hosted a banking careers panel that brought together around 30 students, 10 working professionals, and 4 specialised investment bankersShivali, Samahit, Kanishk, and Bhaven Ji

As the lead organiser, I had the privilege of overseeing every detail, from setting up the space and coordinating volunteers to ensuring the event flowed seamlessly from the welcome session through to the networking that took place afterwards

I'd also like to thank the massive team that helped both infront and behind the scenes. Due to the limited time frame between yesterdays' event and the time that the mailing list comes out, I understand that this is quite brief, so I will be updatating this document with greater details later on in the week

What did I learn about organising?

Managing an event like this taught me a lot about structure and communication.  Making sure chairs, tables, mics, timekeeping, and name tags were sorted sounds simple, but every detail matters when you’re trying to create an environment that feels professional yet welcoming. Working closely with the team to assign clear roles was key to making sure things ran smoothly and I was really like to have a support team around me.

What did I learn from the Panel and Professionals?:

  • Earning verses managing money:  It’s about making a lot of money but also using it wisely and meaningfully.

  • Standing out: Bhaven’s hyperfocus on market knowledge was inspiring; it showed how depth in a single area can set you apart.

  • Adapting to change: With AI transforming the finance world, adaptability is becoming one of the most important skills for future professionals.

Beyond careers, this event reminded me of the value of bringing people together, connecting youth with experienced professionals, and blending professional guidance with a spiritual foundation. It’s rare to find spaces where career ambition and personal values meet so seamlessly, and I feel grateful to have been part of creating one.

I'd also like to thank the massive team that helped both infront and behind the scenes. Due to the limited time frame between yesterdays' event and the time that the mailing list comes out, I understand that this is quite brief, so I will be updatating this document with greater details later on in the week
