Insight day at Frontier Economics.
Quick summary of what we did:
- Introduction to Frontier and an overview of the different teams and projects they work on.
- Workshops on real-world economic problems where we worked in small groups to analyse data and make recommendations.
- Case study session that involved applying economic theory to practical scenarios, including some Y2 micro concepts we hadn’t covered in class yet such as price discrimination.
- Short introduction to what we learn at uni like differences-in-differences curves and cost-benefit analysis. Asked a couple questions later about the multi-variable regression calculation (look at image of someone taking a photo of me lol)
- Opportunities to ask questions and discuss ideas with employees at different career stages, such as interns, but also one of the partners there too.
- Networking and informal discussions with other students and professionals throughout the day
- CV writing and what makes you stand out
